EWE Baskets Oldenburg is a professional basketball club that is based in the city of Oldenburg, Germany. The club plays in the Bundesliga and in the Eurocup. The club's name is derived from the team's main sponsor EWE AG, which is an electric utility company. The club's home arena is EWE Arena.

The club began in the year 1954 as the basketball department of the Oldenburger TB sports club. In the year 2001, the basketball department of Oldenburger TB formed a new separate club, called EWE Baskets Oldenburg.
In the season of 2008/2009 EWE Baskets Oldenburg achieved their greatest succes by winning the German Championship title. As German Champion Oldenburg played in the Euroleague in 2009/2010.[1]
Oldenburg plays their domestic German League games at the 3,148 seat EWE Arena, which is the club's home arena. For European-wide competition home matches, which have rules requiring arenas with larger seating capacities, EWE can play home games at either the 5,118 seat Weser-Ems-Halle, or at the 10,700 seat AWD Dome.
